Item 6037:  WW2 German Camouflage zeltbahn, dated 1939

Zeltbahns are like women. there are so many things that can go wrong with them. If it's not one thing, it's another. Most zeltbahns are either faded or have tears or missing buttons or some such damage. It's because of the way that they were often treated in the post war years; being left on farms where they served as tarps and pig blankets or whatever.

Happily, this zeltbahn has had a good life and was taken well care of wherever it was. The colors are excellent, all the buttons are there (and matching too!). None of the grommets are loose or damaged. The maker marking is excellent and clear. There is plenty to love about this specimen.  ** SOLD **

Item 6038:  WW2 German Camouflage zeltbahn, unmarked

Here is another zeltbahn that has been well cared for over the years. It has nice colors and no damage to the grommets. All the buttons are present and matching. Zeltbahns are one of my favorite things. I have had literally 100s of them over the years. This one ranks as well above average in condition. As far as original German WW2 camo goes, you can't get more bang for your buck than buying one of these beauties. Price $135.00** ON HOLD **

Item 6026: SUPERB Pioneer piped waffenrock worn by an assault-boat coxswain

I am really tempted to shower a lot of flowery adjectives in this description so please bear with me. This waffenrock has no moth damage and very little wear to the nap of the material. The wool is textbook wartime grade and although this uniform is not dated, I would guess that it is of about 1940 vintage. All insignia is originally sewn. The specialist rating patch is fantastically rare. The anchor and steering wheel indicates that this Oberfeldwebel was a coxswain on an assault boat; the type used in crossing rivers either in assault or for ferrying troops to an established bridgehead. This rating insignia is by all indications, original to the tunic

Just imagine; It is september of 1943 and army group south is fighting a hasty retreat westwards across the Dneiper river while the Soviet Juggernaught is bearing down on them. Russian artillery and 'jabos' are pounding the hapless landsers mercilessly.  An oberfeldwebel of engineers is at the helm of his boat ferrying wounded soldiers to the west bank. All the while dreaming of getting back home so that he can wear this waffenrock to the Christmas parade.

The shooting lanyard and medals came with this uniform so I am leaving the set together but you can buy the waffenrock-only if you'd like. This uniform came from a collector who bought it at an Oklahoma gunshow in 1969. It is about a size 38L. Well marked, all stitching is sound. There are no problems with this one. Price for uniform-only; $1,275.00

OR $1550.00 if you want it with all the fruit-salad shown here.

Item 6022 WW2 German paratrooper boots

A genuine pair of side-lace early paratrooper boots is probably one of the rarest and most sought-after items in all of relic-dome. These are very probably not them, however. I have been told that they are extremely high quality reproductions made about 30 years ago in Austria. They are identical in every respect with originals. Continental soles, correct wooden peg construction and heel-irons. I got these from a collector who bought them as original from a German dealer in 1983. They cost $350 at that time. (I recently heard of an original pair that sold in Europe last year for $6500, yes the genuine article is that rare) These are size marked as European size 45 which is about 9 1/2 US. My price is $550.00 For the collector of paratrooper stuff, this is the very next best thing to unquestionable originals. And they couldn't be made today for under a thousand.

Item 6019 WW2 Steel hand grenade carrier

I bought this steel grenade can at a military show in Belgium and used it for luggage coming back to the US. ( no dirty underwear was put inside...I promise) It is in great shape with no dents or significant rust. The exterior has been re-painted in battleship grey. It must have been done a long time ago. There are no markings or dates visible. They were probably covered by the grey over-paint. Overall very good condition. Price $220.00

Item 6014 WW2 German army sport shirt

Item 6015 WW2 German (or Axis) uniform shirt.

This is an all cotton European army shirt. The extra long length and the half-way buttoned front opening make it appear to be German. perhaps it is Italian. There are no markings seen except for the "1" in a circle which may be a size number. The overall condition is near mint. I cannot guarantee it to be German but I can guarantee it is from before 1945. Price $110.00

Item 6004 WW2 Stick grenade, Bulgarian dated 1940

Thousands of these things were thrown at the Russians (boy, you sure can't do that sort of thing today) The head retains 80% of its original green color. The stick is in excellent condition and is well marked with the 5 1/2 second warning and a clear 1940 date. Overall a great item for the display of eastern front combat stuff. $175.00

It is serial numbered twice and both numbers match. It is maker marked AYF42 and has all the waffenampts. The lanyard ring was removed for some reason. Overall a nice but affordable example.
